The Coming King of Kings

New World Order Series, Part 7

Jim Allen

We have been looking at the events of the End Times, wherein a New World Order will come to power, Christ will return for His Bride, a wedding ceremony will occur under the canopy of Heaven, then Christ will reign with His Bride for 1,000 years. In 2012, nearly two-thousand years have lapsed since the Ascension of Jesus into Heaven as recorded in the Bible. After His ascent, angels appeared and said to those gazing upward, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11). Jesus left the earth victorious in mission with the promise to return (John 19:28; John 14:3). His return will mark the end of the age and the time of self-serving men will end.

Among one of the last prophecies to be fulfilled before Christ's millennial rule is when Jesus steps onto the Mount of Olives, causing the mountain to split in two (Zechariah 14:3-4). The split will mark the fulfillment of this prophecy and the beginning of a new era for humanity. At the fulfillment of this prophecy, the enduring and battered world population will be in survival mode, its political leaders confused, its armies destroyed, and its religious elite left without messages of hope. The number of crises stemming from the failed new world order will be immeasurable. The knees of all surviving humanity will bow before the Lord Jesus in recognition of His authority, power, and deity. Those who raged against truth and fought the Lord's most holy purpose will intuitively know that for them it will not end well (Revelation 20:15).

The Kingdom of God will have arrived. Jesus will usher in unimaginable peace and prosperity based on two of the greatest commandments: "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like unto it, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself'" (Matthew 22:37-39). True believers already know about this kingdom because it abides inwardly. By faith, believers strive to live in peace and truth. They know forgiveness and grow in their knowledge of truth and grace (2 Peter 3:18). When rightly positioned before the Father in faith, in prayer, and with thanksgiving in their hearts, God's earthen vessels occupy the kingdom (2 Corinthians 4:7).

Jesus spoke often about the Kingdom of God, using parables to help the downtrodden masses understand what it is like and how to possess it by faith. One popular parable refers to a treasure hidden in a field. When the treasure was found by a man, he ran out and sold all he had to purchase the field (Matthew 13:44). While the storyline is simple, the hidden truth is profound. The "field" is a metaphor for the world and the "treasure" is Jesus Christ. When believers discover Jesus and the richness available in Him, they will gladly give up their life in order to know Him (Philippians 3:7-9).

Of course, our access to this kingdom is only possible when we are born again (John 3:3). The transformative change of a born again person is like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon. Believers possessing the hidden treasure of Christ and His kingdom will be free from the cocoon of sinful bondage (Romans 6:18). Believers in possession of this kingdom will not grovel about in the dark soil of the world like lowly worms. They will have emerged with divine purpose and vision, possessing a new and powerful nature which enables them to soar in the heavenlies on wings of faith (Philippians 4:13).

As incredible as this personal, inward kingdom is, we are promised yet another kingdom, for another time which begins when Jesus steps back into this fallen world, a step marking the end of the age of self-serving humanity. This coming new kingdom will be the physical kingdom ruled by the King of Kings and Lord of Lords (Revelation 19:15). Isaiah prophesized: "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).

"Though portions of this prophecy have been fulfilled for the church, the remaining portions await completion for Israel. Their rejection of Christ will change when Israel sees Christ delivering them from their enemies. God's promises are sure and His prophecies nearly all complete. From Israel, Jesus will rule the world as Prince of Peace, Lord of Lords, and King of Kings. Health, safety, peace and blessings will be restored to Israel and to the world when the Lord Jesus returns to set up HIS new world order." [1]
